Grex Power Tools Introduces New 2” Length 23 Gauge Headless Pinner

Alhambra, CA – Grex Power Tools, pioneers of 23 gauge headless pinners with the “self-adjusting” magazine, is proud to announce the release of their new 2” length pinner. This new nailer, model P650, is capable of driving pins from 3/8” up to 2” in length. The ability to drive a total of 14 different sizes makes it the only tool in the market capable of such a wide range of fastener lengths. Grex will be unveiling the P650 at this year’s Association of Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) Fair held in Las Vegas.

Grex can very well be considered the leader of the headless pinner market. In 2000, Grex took the woodworking industry by surprise with the “self-adjusting” magazine design. This has been the one defining feature equipped on all their 23 gauge headless pinners as first seen on their model P630. In addition, while all headless pinners at that time could drive only a maximum length of ¾” pins, the P630 raised the bar by offering the capability of driving pins up to 1-3/16” in length.

Keeping their eyes and ears open, they took note of comments and suggestions offered from P630 users and redesigned the pinner in late 2004 into the still popular P635. Adorned with specifications like a rear exhaust, built-in silencer, no-mar rubber nose tip, belt hook, increased fastener length capacity to 1-3/8”, and countless other features, it’s no wonder this pinner was named “The Lexus of Pinners” by Wood magazine, 2005’s Best New Tool in Popular Woodworking, Best Bet out of 8 pinners by Woodworkers Journal, and runner up in Fine Homebuilding’s Best Overall pinner. Due to industry demand, in 2006 Grex unleashed their P645, a headless pin nailer that could drive up to 1-3/4” in length with an optional anti-dry firing feature. In less than a year, the P645 has already been rated five out of five by Popular Woodworking. We expect nothing less from their P650.

The Grex P650 has been under intense testing for the past year in order to assure it will provide consistent operation as claimed. “For the design of a tool like this, the main challenge is to have enough power to drive that longest pin,” says Grex Power Tool’s President, Frank Wong. “We had to be positive it could do that before releasing it into the market.”

Grex has stayed true to their pledge of developing not only innovative products, but quality products for professionals and DIYers alike. The addition of their P650 is upholds the Grex’s standard. Not only can the pinner drive the minute 23 gauge headless pins perfectly into the hardest woods, but it can do so from 3/8” length pins all the way up to 2”. It has all the desired features of its predecessor P635, and like the P645, has the optional lock-out mechanism that prevents dry firing of the tool. Versatility is an understatement.
